My Question is for Linda Hutchens….first of all I enjoyed your company our tour of Lake Lanier (smiling). How can I get the information on the Teachers that were at Fair Street between 1963-1968. Linda I had a second grade teacher named Ms Smith for Alabama she took me home for the weekend with her. I want to find my teachers that came from out of town. Thanks Debbie Anita Lewis

Linda she took me to Alabama for the weekend. She stayed at the teachers cottage across from St Paul…or on Fair Street. I am excited about this research. My teachers in Gainesville have passed away. I have a beautiful photo of Mrs. Laura Mae Whelchel.

I would like to know about some of the teachers also. Ms. Gloria Young, Ms. Allgood, Ms. Caudle, Ms. Dorothy Evans, Ms. Glascoe, Ms. Camp (she was Mr. Camp’s wife, the band director at Butler High), Mr. Hollingsworth, Mr. Anderson, Mr. Farrell was our PE teacher at Fair Street, Mr. Sullivan, Mr. Pryor was a counselor, Ms. Davidson was our math teacher. Debbie Ms. Anne Thomas (John Butt’s wife) was from Montgomery, AL.

Ms. Josephine Young passed a few years back. I have been told that Ms. Allgood, and Mr. Hollingsworth passed also. Mrs. Anne Thomas Butts passed here in Gainesville several years ago. Mrs. Doris Evans lives here in Gainesville and Mrs. Caudle who lives in Social Circle was present and spoke at the opening ceremony for the new Fair Street School. I do not know the status of the other teachers you mentioned
