Gainesville Honors Coach Cabbell
December 8, 2014
Dear Fair Street Butler High Tigers,
My name is Shelley Cabbell. I have been chosen to be the spokesperson for my family (Evelyn Cabbell –my mother, and Leland Cabbell – my brother). We have been mourning for the past few months, yet we have been filled with gratitude. While we have mourned the loss of my father, we are filled with gratitude for the 90 years of his life. We are also filled with gratitude for the outpouring of love that has been shown to him by his players, students, and friends.
We have been made aware that it appears that a movement spearheaded by my father’s players and students to have a venue named in his honor is going to come to fruition. We would like to thank everyone who was involved in this initiative, and we would also like to thank everyone for all of the kind words, thoughts, and deeds that have made this difficult time more bearable. Thank you all for everything that you have done.
Sincerely,
Shelley Cabbell
